
Raul Malo is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and music producer born in 1965. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the country band The Mavericks, co-writing many of their hits. In addition, he co-wrote Rick Trevino's 2003 single "In My Dreams." After The Mavericks disbanded in the early 2000s, Raul Malo pursued a solo career and joined the supergroup Los Super Seven in 2001. The Mavericks reunited in 2012 and continue to tour actively. In 2015, they won the Americana Music Award for Duo/Group of the Year. Raul Malo has significantly influenced country and Latin music with his distinctive voice and songwriting.
