Rage Against The Machine is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1991. The group consists of vocalist Zack de la Rocha, bassist and backing vocalist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello, and drummer Brad Wilk. Known for their revolutionary political lyrics, they have sold over 16 million records worldwide as of 2010. Their self-titled debut album, featuring hits like "Killing in the Name", became a landmark in the fusion of rap and rock. Despite multiple nominations, they have yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rage Against The Machine remains a defining voice in politically charged rock music.
