Pops Staples (1914–2000) was an American gospel and R&B musician. Originally from the United States, he became a key figure in gospel music in the 1960s and 1970s. Pops Staples was the patriarch and member of The Staple Singers , which included his son Первис and daughters Мэвис , Ивонн , and Клеота . The group achieved widespread fame with hits such as "I'll Take You There" and "Respect Yourself" Pops Staples was also known for his unique guitar style, which influenced many musicians. His contributions to the development of gospel and R&B remain significant to this day.
