Pompeya is a Russian English-language band founded in 2006. They draw inspiration from 1970s disco and funk, as well as indie and pop music from the 1980s and 1990s. They gained widespread recognition thanks to the music video for "Cheenese" and the release of the eponymous "Cheenese EP" in 2010. Their debut album, "Tropical" was released in 2011, featuring the hit "90" which became the band's signature track. Pompeya tours extensively both in Russia and internationally, cementing their status as an independent band with a devoted following. Their work has contributed to the development of the Russian indie scene.
