Phil Ochs was an American musician born on December 19, 1940, in the United States. He became known as the author and performer of "protest songs" that criticized capitalism, liberal values, and the Vietnam War. He called himself a "singing journalist." During his career, Phil Ochs released several albums, including "I Ain't Marching Anymore" and "Pleasures of the Harbor" which became landmarks for the civil rights and anti-war movements. His work had a significant influence on the development of folk music and protest songs.
