Petra was a Christian rock band formed in 1972 in Fort Wayne, USA, by Bob Hartman, Greg Hough, and John DeGroff during their time at the Christian Training Center. Known as pioneers of the Christian rock genre, the band released numerous albums, including the acclaimed "Beyond Belief" and "This Means War!". Over their career, they received multiple Grammy Awards and Dove Awards, solidifying their influence in the genre. Petra disbanded in 2006 but remains a cornerstone in the history of Christian rock music.
