
Peter Garrett (full name: Питер Роберт Гарретт ) is an Australian musician, politician, and environmentalist, born in 1953. He was the lead vocalist of the rock band Midnight Oil from 1973 to 2002. The band is known for its sociopolitical lyrics and hits such as "Beds Are Burning" and "Blue Sky Mine" In addition to his musical career, Garrett was actively involved in environmental activism, chairing the Australian Conservation Foundation for ten years. In 2003, he was awarded the Order of Australia for his contribution to environmental protection and the development of the music industry.
