
Peter Cetera is an American singer, songwriter, and musician born in 1944. He gained fame as the bassist and one of the lead vocalists of the rock band Chicago. In 1976, he wrote the ballad "If You Leave Me Now", which became the band's first U.S. number-one hit and defined their soft rock style. After leaving Chicago in 1985, Cetera launched a successful solo career, achieving hits like "Glory of Love" and collaborations such as "The Next Time I Fall" with Amy Grant. His work has significantly shaped the soft rock and adult contemporary genres.
