
Paul Mauriat (1925–2006) was a French composer, arranger, and orchestra leader. Born in Marseille, France, he became known for his unique style, which combined pop music and orchestral arrangements. His most famous composition, "Love Is Blue" topped the charts in the United States in 1968. Mauriat released numerous albums on the Philips label, and his orchestra toured internationally.
