
Патти Смит (real name Патриция Ли Смит ) is an American singer and poet, born in 1946. She is called the "godmother of punk rock" thanks to her debut album, Horses , which became an important milestone in the genre's development. In the 1970s, she performed on the stage of New York's CBGB club, where the new wave of music was emerging.
