Ian Paice (born June 29, 1948) is a British drummer. He is best known as a member of the legendary rock band Deep Purple . He is the only musician to have been a member of every lineup of the band since its inception. Paice is ranked 21st on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Drummers of All Time" and 8th among the best rock drummers according to Classic Rock . His contribution to rock music has also been recognized by DRUM! Magazine , which included him in its list of the "60 Best Rock Drummers of All Time."
