
Oscar Benton (real name Оскар Бентон ) was a Dutch musician and composer born on February 3, 1949. He rose to prominence as the leader of the Oscar Benton Blues Band , which gained popularity in 1968 after taking second place at the Loosdrecht Jazz Festival. His work spanned the genres of blues and pop. Among Oscar Benton best-known songs is "Bensonhurst Blues" which received international acclaim and was featured in film soundtracks. Oscar Benton made a significant contribution to the popularization of blues in the Netherlands and beyond.
