
Oliver Cheatham was an American R&B and disco singer born in 1948 in the United States. He is best remembered for his 1983 hit "Get Down Saturday Night", which became a classic in the disco and R&B genres. The song gained renewed popularity through sampling by Italian DJ Room 5 in the 2003 single "Make Luv", which topped the UK charts, and by British DJ Michael Gray in the 2004 track "The Weekend". Oliver Cheatham's contributions to R&B and disco continue to influence modern music. He passed away in 2013.
