Ofra Haza (born November 19, 1957, Tel Aviv, Israel) was an Israeli singer and actress who performed Jewish music. Her career began in the 1970s, and she quickly became one of Israel's most famous artists. Ofra Haza gained international recognition with her album "Shaday" (1988) and the hit "Im Nin'alu" which reached high positions on the world charts. Her unique style combined traditional Jewish motifs with modern pop arrangements. Ofra Haza also represented Israel at the Eurovision Contest in 1983 with the song "Chai" taking second place. Her contribution to the popularization of Jewish music remains significant.
