Nic Cester is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter, and guitarist born in 1979. He is best known as the frontman and lead singer of the rock band Jet , which he founded with his younger brother, Chris. The band achieved international success with the track "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" which won the APRA Awards Award for "Most Performed Australian Work Overseas" in 2006 and 2007. Cester is also a founding member of the supergroup The Wrights . His contributions to the development of Australian rock have made him a significant figure in the genre.
