Niagara is a French pop rock band formed in 1982 by vocalist Мюриэль Лапорт , keyboardist and guitarist Даниэля Шеневье , and guitarist Жозе Тамарена . In 1984, the band changed its name from L'Ombre jaune to Niagara . After the release of its first album in 1985, Тамарен left the group, which became a duo. The band evolved from new wave and synthpop to a more rock-oriented sound. Their work was often compared to the British duo Eurythmics . Niagara made a significant contribution to the development of French pop music in the 1980s and 1990s.
