Neil Murray (full name Philip Neil Murray ) is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and writer, born in 1956. He co-founded Warumpi , the first major Aboriginal rock band, composed primarily of Indigenous people. In 1995, Neil Murray was recognized as one of Australia's outstanding songwriters, winning the APRA Awards Award for Song of the Year for " My Island Home ." His work has made a significant contribution to the development of country and folk rock, enriching the genres with a unique Australian identity.
