Napalm Death is a British grindcore band founded in 1981. The band is considered one of the founders of the grindcore genre, which emerged from the intersection of thrashcore and crust punk, with influences from thrash and death metal. As their style developed, Napalm Death experimented with death metal, but later returned to their grindcore roots while retaining the death metal component. Their composition "You Suffer" was included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the shortest song in the world, lasting 1.316 seconds. Napalm Death made a significant contribution to the development of extreme music.
