Nanci Griffith Griffith was an American singer-songwriter born on July 6, 1953, in the United States. Her work combined elements of country, folk, and rock music, which she called "folkabilly." Nanci Griffith released numerous albums, including "Other Voices, Other Rooms" which won a Grammy Award in 1994. Her best-known songs include "Love at the Five and Dime" and "From a Distance" Griffith made a significant contribution to the genre, fusing folk and country traditions with her unique signature style.
