Mungo Jerry was a British rock band formed in 1969 in London by singer-songwriter Рэем Дорсетом . The band performed eclectic pop-roots rock with elements of rockabilly, blues, rhythm and blues, skiffle, and rock 'n' roll. The band gained fame thanks to the single "In the Summertime" which topped the UK charts in June 1970 and stayed at the top for seven weeks. Mungo Jerry has had a total of eight singles enter the UK Top 40. The band made a significant contribution to the development of British rock music, combining traditional genres with a modern sound.
