Mort Shuman (1936–1991) was an American musician, songwriter, singer, and actor. Born in the United States, he became known as one of the key composers of 1960s rock and roll. Collaborating with Doc Pomus , he wrote numerous hits, including "Save the Last Dance for Me" and "This Magic Moment" In addition to composing, Mort Shuman performed songs, performed on stage, and also acted in films. His contributions to the development of rock and roll and pop music made him an iconic name in the music industry.
