Monika is a Greek singer and songwriter, born on May 26, 1985. Her musical career began with the release of her debut album, Avatar in 2008, which, like its 2010 follow-up, Exit , achieved platinum status in Greece. In 2015, Monika released her first international album Secret in the Dark , recorded in New York City with musicians from Dap-Kings . This album marked a transition from folk to disco and funk. Monika has made a significant contribution to the popularization of contemporary Greek music on the international stage.
