Mineral was an American emo band from Houston, formed in 1994. The band played in the Midwest emo genre and is considered one of the founders of the second wave of emo music, along with Sunny Day Real Estate . Mineral work was influenced by 1980s hardcore punk and post-hardcore, as well as the indie rock of the time. During their career, the band released two albums, including "The Power of Failing" and "EndSerenading" which became cult classics in the genre. In 1998, the band disbanded, leaving a significant mark on the history of emo music.
