Mildred Bailey , also known as Милдред Бейли or Милдред Бэйли , was an American jazz singer born in 1907 in Tekoy, Washington. She became known for her unique vocal style and was one of the first women to achieve success in jazz. Among her most famous recordings are "Rockin' Chair" and "Georgia on My Mind" Mildred Bailey collaborated with such prominent musicians as Benny Goodman and Paul Whiteman . Her contributions to jazz music had a significant influence on the development of the genre and inspired many subsequent performers.
