Memphis Bleek , born Malik Cox, is an American rapper from New York City, born in 1978. He rose to prominence through his association with Jay-Z , who served as his mentor. In the late 1990s, Memphis Bleek signed with Roc-A-Fella Records , where he released four studio albums: "Coming of Age" , "The Understanding" , "MADE" , and "534" In 1998, he founded his own label Get Low Records , and in 2016, Warehouse Music Group , signing rapper Casanova . Memphis Bleek has made a significant contribution to the development of East Coast hip-hop.
