McFadden & Whitehead were an American R&B and disco duo from Philadelphia, USA. The pair, consisting of Gene McFadden and John Whitehead, were born in the 1940s and became prominent in the late 1970s. They are best known for their 1979 hit single "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now", which became an anthem of empowerment and reached the top of the R&B charts. Signed to Philadelphia International Records, they also wrote and produced hits for other artists, including The O'Jays and Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. Their contributions to the disco and R&B genres remain influential, blending soulful melodies with danceable rhythms.
