Maysa (also known as Майса ) was a Brazilian singer and actress born on June 6, 1936. She worked in the genres of bossa nova, jazz, and Latin pop. Maysa began her career in the 1950s and quickly became one of the most recognizable bossa nova performers. Her best-known songs include "Ouça" and "Meu Mundo Caiu" In addition to her music career, she also acted in films and television. Maysa made a significant contribution to the popularization of bossa nova, becoming one of the genre's key figures. She died on January 22, 1977, leaving behind a vibrant legacy in Brazilian music.
