Mayday Parade is an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida, formed in 2005. The group emerged when members of two local bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment, joined forces. Their debut EP, released in 2006, sold 20,000 copies independently. On July 10, 2007, Mayday Parade released their first album, "A Lesson in Romantics", which gained significant attention. They signed with Fearless Records (2006–2009) before moving to Atlantic Records. Their second album, "Anywhere But Here", came out in 2009, followed by their self-titled third album in 2011. Mayday Parade is known for their emotive lyrics and contributions to alternative rock.
