Massiel (real name María de los Ángeles Santamaría Espinosa) is a Spanish singer, born on August 2, 1947, in Madrid, Spain. She is best known for her victory in Евровидение Song Contest in 1968 with the song "La La La" which gave Spain its first victory in the contest's history. Massiel performs pop, Latin American music, and world classical music. Over the course of her career, she has released several successful albums and become one of the iconic figures of the Spanish music scene. Her contribution to the popularization of Spanish music remains significant.
