
Marvin Rainwater (full name Marvin Karlton Rainwater ) was an American musician, singer, and songwriter born in 1925. A rockabilly and country performer, he became known for his flamboyant stage persona, often performing in traditional costumes that emphasized his Native American heritage (he was one-quarter Cherokee). Among his best-known songs are "Gonna Find Me a Bluebird" "Whole Lotta Woman" and "I Dig You Baby" which all became hits. Marvin Rainwater left his mark on music history as one of the most inventive and versatile performers of his genre.
