Mac DeMarco (born Вернор Уинфилд Макбрайер Смит IV ) is a Canadian musician and singer-songwriter born in April 1990 in Edmonton. Working in the indie genre, he began his musical career in high school, recording songs under the moniker Makeout Videotape . In 2008, he moved to Vancouver, where he formed a band that opened for Japandroids and released several cassette tapes. DeMarco later moved to New York City and then Los Angeles. His work has had a significant influence on the development of indie music, thanks to his unique style and experimental approach.
