
Luis Bacalov (1933–2017) was an Argentine and Italian composer known for his work in the soundtrack genre and world classical music. Born in Buenos Aires to Bulgarian Jewish parents, Bacalov became widely known for his film scores, including his work on the soundtrack to the cult film "Il Postino" , for which he won an Oscar in 1996. His work included collaborations with directors such as Federico Fellini and Quentin Tarantino , whose films included his compositions. Luis Bacalov left a significant mark on film music, combining classical and contemporary elements.
