
Leadbelly , born Хадди Вильям Ледбеттер , was an American musician born in 1888 in Louisiana, USA. He worked in the blues, jazz, and country genres and became known for his unique style of playing the 12-string guitar. Leadbelly recorded such iconic songs as "Goodnight, Irene" "Midnight Special" and "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" which were subsequently covered by numerous artists. His work had a profound influence on the development of American folk music and inspired artists such as Bob Dylan and Nirvana . Leadbelly left a significant mark on music history by fusing African-American folk traditions with modern genres.
