Larry Young , also known as Лэрри Янг or Ларри Янг , was an American jazz organist born in 1940 in Newark, New York. He became known for his innovative approach to the Hammond organ, which departed from the traditional soul and gospel music of his time. Larry Young collaborated with such prominent musicians as John McLaughlin and Tony Williams and was a member of the group Lifetime . His album "Unity" (1965) is considered a post-bop classic. Larry Young contribution to jazz includes expanding the possibilities of the organ as an instrument for avant-garde and fusion jazz.
