Китай is a Russian pop-rock band formed in 2007. Their name derives from the Kitay-Gorod metro station, where their first rehearsal space was located. The band rose to fame in 2009 with the song "После дождя" which became their most recognizable hit. During their existence from 2007 to 2012, Китай contributed to the development of Russian rock, combining melody and lyricism in their compositions.
