Kishi Bashi, born Kaoru Ishibashi on November 4, 1975, is an American singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter based in Athens, Georgia. Known for his work in alternative, indie, and contemporary classical genres, he co-founded Jupiter One and was a member of of Montreal. In 2011, he launched his solo career, releasing his debut album 151a in 2012 under Joyful Noise Recordings, which garnered critical acclaim. His intricate compositions and innovative use of violin have made him a standout in the indie music scene. Kishi Bashi continues to push the boundaries of his genre with his unique artistry.
