
Kirsty MacColl was an English singer-songwriter born in 1959 in the United Kingdom. Known for her work in pop and rock, she gained prominence in the 1980s and 1990s with hits like "There's a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop (Swears He's Elvis)", and covers of Billy Bragg's "A New England" and The Kinks' "Days." Her debut single, "They Don't Know," later became a chart success when covered by Tracey Ullman. MacColl also contributed vocals to The Pogues' iconic "Fairytale of New York."
