
King Oliver, born Джозеф Оливер, was a pioneering jazz musician from the United States. Known as a key figure in the development of early jazz, he was born in 1881 in New Orleans, the birthplace of the genre. A cornet player and bandleader, King Oliver is best remembered for leading the Creole Jazz Band, which included a young Louis Armstrong. His compositions, such as "Dipper Mouth Blues", became jazz standards. King Oliver significantly influenced the evolution of jazz with his innovative use of mutes and his mentorship of future jazz legends.
