He gained international recognition with his 1976 hit single "Police and Thieves", produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry. The song became a reggae classic and was later covered by The Clash, further cementing its legacy. Known for his falsetto voice, Junior Murvin contributed significantly to the reggae genre, blending social commentary with melodic rhythms. His work remains influential in both reggae and drum and bass music. Junior Murvin passed away on December 2, 2013.
