Josh Tillman , also known as Father John Misty , is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer born in 1981. He began his career in 2004, releasing solo albums under the pseudonym J. Tillman . In addition to his solo work, he has been a member of bands such as Fleet Foxes , Demon Hunter , and Saxon Shore , and has collaborated with artists including Damien Jurado and Jesse Sykes. He is best known for his project Father John Misty , releasing albums such as "I Love You, Honeybear" and "Pure Comedy" His work has had a significant influence on contemporary alternative music.
