John McLaughlin

John McLaughlin is a British virtuoso guitarist, born in 1942, known for his work in the jazz fusion genre. He participated in the recording of Miles Davis seminal albums, "In A Silent Way" and "Bitches Brew" which became milestones in the development of fusion music. McLaughlin founded the group "Mahavishnu Orchestra" which became one of the most prominent representatives of jazz-rock of the 1970s, as well as the acoustic project Shakti , considered a pioneer of the world music genre. He was also a member of the renowned acoustic trio with Paco de Lucía and Al Di Meola . His work has had a profound influence on the development of jazz and rock music.
