
John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson, also known as Sonny Boy Williamson I, was an American blues musician born in 1914 in Madison County, Tennessee. A pioneer of the harmonica in blues music, he was instrumental in shaping the Chicago blues sound. Signed to Bluebird Records, he recorded influential tracks such as "Good Morning, School Girl" and "Sugar Mama Blues". His innovative playing style and songwriting inspired generations of blues artists. Tragically, his career was cut short when he was killed in 1948. Sonny Boy Williamson I remains a foundational figure in blues history, celebrated for his contributions to the genre's evolution.
