Joey Negro , born David Russell Lee, is an English DJ and house music producer born on June 18, 1964. He is known for his work in the disco genre and has released music under a variety of pseudonyms, including Jakatta , Doug Willis , Raven Maize , and Sessomatto . As part of the group Sunburst he also contributed to the development of electronic music. In July 2020, he dropped the stage name Joey Negro in response to protests against racial injustice. His work has had a significant influence on the development of modern disco music.
