
Joe South (real name Джо Саут ) is an American musician, born February 28, 1940. He has worked in the rock, pop, and country genres. In the 1960s, Joe South was in demand as a session musician, participating in recordings by artists such as Aretha Franklin , Bob Dylan , and Simon & Garfunkel . Among his best-known songs is "Games People Play" which earned him a Grammy Award. South retired from active music in the 1970s but temporarily returned in 1994. His contribution to the development of rock and country music remains significant.
