Joe Perry (full name Anthony Joseph Perry ) is an American guitarist and songwriter, born September 10, 1950, in the United States. He is best known as a founder and member of Aerosmith , one of the most successful rock bands in history. Joe Perry made significant contributions to hard rock, and his guitar parts became the hallmark of such hits as "Dream On" , "Walk This Way" , and "Sweet Emotion" . Rolling Stone magazine included him in the list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time, where he was ranked 48th in 2003 and 84th in 2011. His work has had a huge influence on the development of the hard rock genre.
