
Jimmy Dawkins (1936–2013) was an American guitarist and singer known for his work in the Chicago blues and electric blues genres. Born in the United States, he became a key figure in the so-called "West Side Sound" of Chicago blues. Dawkins released his first album, "Fast Fingers" , in 1969, which received critical acclaim and earned him the "Grand Prix du Disque" award in France. During his career, he collaborated with labels such as Delmark Records and performed at international blues festivals. His guitar playing and vocals had a significant influence on the development of Chicago blues.
