
Jennie Tourel (née Davidson) was an American singer and music educator of Belarusian descent. Born on June 22, 1900, in Vitebsk to a Jewish family, Tourel rose to fame as an outstanding mezzo-soprano, performing world classics and opera. Her career spanned performances on major world stages, including Metropolitan Opera , and collaborations with composers such as Франсис Пуленк . In addition to performing, she taught voice, passing on her skills to the next generation. Jennie Tourel made a significant contribution to the popularization of classical music and opera in the 20th century.
