Jay Kay (born 30 December 1969) is a British singer and songwriter, best known as the founder and lead singer of the band Jamiroquai . Formed in the early 1990s, the band became one of the most successful in the house, electronic, and funk genres. Their album "Travelling Without Moving" (1996) brought them worldwide fame thanks to the hits "Virtual Insanity" and "Cosmic Girl" Jamiroquai received a Grammy Award for Best Music Video and numerous other awards. Jay Kay has made a significant contribution to the popularization of funk music, combining it with modern electronic elements.
