He rose to prominence with the project Songs: Ohia , performing as a solo artist and session musician in the late 1990s. Since 2003, he has continued his career with the band Magnolia Electric Co. , which has brought him even greater popularity among indie rock fans. His work was characterized by profound lyrics and a melancholic sound, making him a cult figure in the alternative music genre. Jason Molina left a significant mark on indie rock, inspiring numerous musicians. He passed away on March 16, 2013.
