Janis Siegel (born July 23, 1952) is an American jazz singer, best known as a member of the vocal group The Manhattan Transfer . Throughout her career, she has won multiple "Грэмми" Awards for her contributions to contemporary jazz and pop music. As a member of The Manhattan Transfer she contributed to such hits as "Birdland" and "Operator" Her unique vocal style and mastery of harmony have made her a key figure in the genre of modern jazz.
